CE Marks on CondomsQ. Does Condomania ship to Europe? Are Condomania's condoms approved with a CE Mark for sale in Europe?
A. We do ship to Europe, but most of our condoms do not bear the CE mark because the condoms we carry are intended primarily for the U.S. market. All of the condoms we carry (except those that are described as "Novelty Condoms") are approved by the U.S. Food and Drug Administration and are manufactured in accordance to ISO standards. Some of these same condoms are even produced in the EU, but because those that we stock are packaged for the U.S. market, they do not bear the CE mark. CE Marking on a product ensures the free movement of the product within the EFTA & European Union (EU) single market and permits the withdrawal of the non-conforming products by customs authorities. However, regulations and enforcement vary widely and we regularly ship to countries within the EU without problem (especially Austria, Belgium, Finland, France, Germany, Italy, Netherlands, Spain, Sweden, and the UK, for example). |
